As of 1 September 2023, I have been elected as Vice-President for Academic, Student and International Affairs at Hochschule Düsseldorf, University of Applied Sciences.
As Vice-President all matters relating to studies, teaching, examinations and international affairs fall within the realm of my responsibilities. I oversee the following organisation units (Websites in German):

New Media studies aim to promote IT literacy. They cover a broad range of topics such as computer networks, word processing or website design as well as specific computer applications. For me, a particular focus is on new opportunities within the World Wide Web and virtual worlds.
Under the label ‘Web 2.0’, new opportunities have developed on the World Wide Web that not only use the web as an information medium but also offer a basis for everyone to create and communicate. Weblogs, wikis, social network portals, content management and e-learning systems are examples of these opportunities. Through virtual worlds such as Second Life and online games they are further elevated to a three-dimensional level.
These areas have been the focus of my teaching and other projects in the past.
Before assuming the Vice-President role, in addition to teaching, I was part of the team responsible for the website of the Department of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies (website, online course registration including seminar registration, Moodle, etc.).
From the summer semester of 2011 to the summer semester of 2023, I was the Data Protection Officer at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf. The Data Protection Officer advises and supports the university management and all faculties and departments that process personal data at the university in all matters relating to data protection and monitors the implementation of data protection in administrative practice.
From the summer semester of 2012 to the summer semester of 2023, I was Dean of Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies at Hochschule Düsseldorf, University of Applied Sciences. I worked with the Dean’s Office and its supporting team to ensure smooth course and exam organisation and scheduling, as well as the overall compliance with the teaching obligations laid out in the Higher Education Act .
